IX Center to reopen with Cleveland Boat Show and Fishing Expo in January 2022

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The reopening of the International Exposition Center will feature the 65th Progressive Cleveland Boat Show & Fishing Expo in January 2022. “The boat show was the first public show held in the I-X when it opened in 1986, and we’re excited to bring the show back after a year’s absence,” said Michelle Burke, president of the Lake Erie Marine Trades Association, in a release.

Cleveland boat show charts January return to I-X Center

The Progressive Cleveland Boat Show and Fishing Expo will return to the I-X Center in January, after striking a deal with the venue's new operator. The Lake Erie Marine Trades Association, which produces the event, agreed late last week to end contract litigation with I-X Center Corp., the company that controls the city-owned property. The boat show's organizers reached an agreement to move forward with Industrial Realty Group LLC, which bought the stock of I-X Center Corp. on Aug. 31.

Electric scooters coming to South Euclid, Cleveland Heights

The electric scooters that populate downtown Cleveland and surrounding communities are coming to South Euclid and Cleveland Heights beginning Sept. 3. In December 2020, South Euclid City Council passed a resolution authorizing Mayor Georgine Welo to enter into a memorandum of understanding with Cuyahoga County for the purpose of establishing and regulating an electric scooter and bike sharing program.

LaGrange Engine show returning to fairgrounds for 50th anniversary

WELLINGTON — It’s the 50th anniversary all over again for the LaGrange Engine Club Show, which wasn’t able to celebrate last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now it’s “full steam ahead” in the return to the Lorain County Fairgrounds Sept. 17-19, and Chairman Chuck Miller said he believes it may be the biggest show in the club’s history.
