Former county detention center nurse Michelle Heughins is being charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection to the death of an inmate, John Neville, at Forsyth County Jail in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Heughins plans on entering a plea of “not guilty” when she appears before a judge next month. Providers say charging the only nurse involved in the inmate’s death is unjust.

Two Suspects Wanted By Police Arrested After Vehicle Pursuit In Archdale

ASHEBORO N.C. – Two individuals, both wanted by police, were involved in a 20 mile long vehicle pursuit in Archdale before being arrested yesterday. A press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says that on May 25th, 2022, the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team pulled over a vehicle near Tom Hill Rd., in Archdale. That vehicle stopped briefly before fleeing the traffic stop and leading police on a 20-mile-long pursuit.

Woman who threatened to shoot school bus charged in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A woman was charged after she said she was going to shoot up a school bus, according to deputies. The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said a student riding a Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School bus was on the phone with a family member. They said the woman on speakerphone threatened to shoot up the bus and have other family members do the same as well. The school bus driver notified school administrators and law enforcement. Deputies said the bus made it safely to school and it was determined it wasn’t a credible threat. Deputies remained on-campus at Clemmons Middle School as they investigated.
