New director hired at Park Center Daycare

For 25-year-old Katelynn Westley, caring for young children was nothing new. Being the mother of three children and having experience in operating her own licensed in-home daycare was in part what gave her the confidence to apply for the position as Director of Park Center Day Care through an ad she had seen on Facebook.

Bike parade - The Page Community Day included a Bike Parade for the children to show off their decorated bikes as well as some decorating of themselves for the event.

Donald Bernard Pelster, 94, of Petersburg, passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society, Albion. He is survived by his wife Rose of Petersburg, children: Patricia (Tom) McHugh of Grand Island, Doris Zwingman of Norfolk, Sharon (Rick) Wood of Grand Island, Elaine (Rick) Graae of Norfolk, Ruth (Joe) Landauer of Albion and Dean (Michelle) Pelster of Petersburg, 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, brother Delmar (Pauline) Pelster of Petersburg, and in-laws: Mary Ann Borer of Neligh, Joe (Connie) Seier of Elgin, Lorraine Seier of Petersburg, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Saturday trail ride attracts 24 riders

Take a perfect summer Saturday, add 24 horses and riders from as far away as Bassett, and reign in a galloping success for the second annual Antelope County Trail Ride. Sponsored by the Antelope County Museum, Neligh, in cooperation with the Antelope County Fair Board, the 16-miler last week launched outside of Oakdale, meandered through the town, Oakdale Cemetery, waving fields of alfalfa, and minimum maintenance sandhills roads.
