A San Jose man has drowned at Lake Berryessa, the Bay Area's largest reservoir, the Napa County Sheriff's Department reported Saturday. Police identified the victim as Billy Dy, 22. On Friday afternoon at 4:55 p.m., Dy's friends called 911 and reported that he was drowning in the Pleasure Cove Marina, on the lake's south shore.

Big Rig and Motorhome in Deadly Collision on Highway 101

On the morning of June 15, 2021, a motorhome and a semi-truck collided head-on in Northern California. At least one person was killed. The tragic accident took place on Highway 101, south of Hopland near mile marker 4.35, which is just south of Frog Woman Rock. The impact left scattered debris throughout the southbound lane of Highway 101 and resulted in backed-up traffic and closure of the road for a few hours during the morning.

Man Dies in Solo Vehicle Crash on Hwy 128

A single vehicle crash on Highway 128 near Healdsburg has resulted in a man’s death. Early Tuesday morning, CHP says that a Nissan SUV was travelling eastbound on Highway 128 east of Chalk Hill Road when it struck a berm and drove over it. The SUV ended up going down a steep embankment and into a vineyard, about 100 feet from the road. CHP are still determining the cause of the crash and are not releasing the name of the victim pending family notification.

The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office identified him as 36-year-old Jesse David Pearce of Sebastopol. They say Pearce was heading northbound on Highway 101 when he began drifting into the opposite lane just south of Frog Woman Rock. He collided with a semi truck killing himself and his pitbull mix and caused major injuries to the semi truck’s driver. The accident resulted in a major backup for hours Tuesday morning as CHP investigated.

Fatal Crash Closes Highway 101 North of Cloverdale

A motor home driver and his dog are dead after colliding head on with a big rig on Highway 101 north of Cloverdale. Around 7 AM Tuesday morning, the northbound motor home drifted into the southbound lanes where it ran into a semi truck. The motor home was destroyed resting in the middle of the highway while the driver and his dog were ejected onto the roadway killing them instantly. The semi truck ended up rolling down an embankment 80 feet before coming to a rest. The big rig driver was airlifted to a Santa Rosa hospital with major injuries. Southbound traffic was backed up until 11 AM when CHP were able to get one lane opened for each direction.

CHP Releases Information on This Morning’s Fatal Crash that Closed 101 South of Hopland

On 06/15/2021, at approximately 0706 hours, a motor home with a solo occupant was traveling on US-101 northbound at mile post marker. 4.32 and veered to the left across the center median and into the southbound lane were it collided head on with a Mack Semi truck hauling paper. Upon impact Party #1 was ejected from his vehicle and sustained fatal injuries, The collision caused the Semi truck to travel a short distance before rolling over down the embankment. Party #2[The driver of the semi truck] was extricated from his vehicle and flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for major injuries. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs use was a factor in the cause of the collision, This collision remains under investigation.
