State police seeking help to identify man who fled New Stanton traffic stop

State police are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who fled from a traffic stop earlier this month in New Stanton. Trooper James Daggett said he pulled over a black Honda near a West Byers Avenue hotel around 8:30 a.m. June 15 for a registration issue and illegal window tinting. His dash camera captured a few photographs of the man before the suspect fled the stop onto Interstate 70 westbound.

Eight projects have received a collective boost totaling more than $162,000 in the latest round of grants awarded in the Revitalizing Westmoreland program. West Virginia University women’s soccer coach Nikki Izzo-Brown has announced the addition of goalkeeper Mackenzie Smith to the 2022 roster. “We are excited welcome Mackenzie, along with the rest of our 2022 recruiting class, to Morgantown in the fall,” Izzo-Brown said. “She will be a quality addition to our goalkeeping unit, as well as the team as a whole.
