The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;. 05-18-22 Christian Crowder 31 was arrested by TPD for arson. 05-18-22 A minor and Bradley Badman were involved in a traffic crash in King township. Bethard failed to yield to Badman at the intersection of 200 E Rd and 300 N Rd and the minor struck Badman. Badman continued south from the intersection and came to a stop in the ditch. Both vehicles were towed from the scene and Badman was airlifted to the hospital.

Editor, Register-Mail: Driving through rural West Central Illinois, one can see signs “No Easement, CO2 Carbon Pipelines, No Eminent Domain.”. Last December, land owners in or near the proposed pipeline route in 13 Illinois counties: Hancock, Adams, McDonough, Henry, Knox, Fulton, Schuyler, Brown, Pike, Scott, Morgan, Sangamon, and Christian received an informational packet from a private company planning 1,300-mile-long CO2 pipeline going through five states: South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois. Industrial CO2 would be captured, piped, and then sequestered in Christian County. CO2 is transported as a liquid under very high pressure.

Oklahoma girl, 6, dies in ATV crash in central Illinois

TAYLORSVILLE, Ill. (AP) — Authorities say a 6-year-old Oklahoma girl died Sunday when an all-terrain vehicle she was a passenger on crashed in central Illinois, also injuring her uncle and another child. Ulicia Garner-Cox was pronounced dead at the scene Sunday evening by Christian County’s coroner. She was from Elmore City, Oklahoma, according to her obituary. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that Garner-Cox was riding on an ATV with her 44-year-old uncle and a 10-year-old boy when it crashed and threw them off the vehicle in rural Christian County. Garner-Cox died from multiple blunt injuries, her uncle was hospitalized in critical condition and the boy suffered minor injuries.

The Nokomis-Pana-Taylorville (NPT) Special Education Cooperative was born on July 1, 2019. The three school districts had petitioned the Regional School Board of Bond, Christian, Effingham, Fayette and Montgomery counties in 2017 to allow them to withdraw from the Mid-State Special Education Cooperative and form their own special ed coop and it was granted.
