Fairfield Historical Society Receives Generous Donation From Servicemen’s Club

Jerry Emerson, left, with the Servicemen’s Club in Fairfield, presents a check for $1,000 to Diane Hausmann, a board member of The Fairfield Historical Society. Emerson told the Sun Times that the club believes in supporting the Fairfield Community. Hausmann said The Fairfield Historical Society “appreciates the donation from the Servicemen’s Club.” Hausmann also told us that after a brief summer hiatus from the Society’s regular monthly meetings, everyone is looking forward to having meetings return on Thursday, September 1 at 7:00 pm at the former Sun River Project/GID Manager’s home, located next to the Greenfields Irrigation District Office.

A GRIZZLY Time In Dupuyer

Visitors Enjoy 2nd Annual Burggraff Barn Tour

Pete and Judy Burggraff and family opened their historic barn and property for the 2nd annual Burggraff barn tour on July 23. The Augusta Area Historical Society hosted and coordinated the very successful event where over 50 guests were treated to the hospitality of the Burggraffs. The day began with many of the folks meeting at the Augusta Museum and traveling caravan style to Burggraffs.

Fae Bingham Laud peacefully passed away in her sleep sometime in the morning of July 26, 2022. Fae was born in Choteau, Montana on Sept. 19, 1930. She was adopted and left the hospital with Edwin and Mary Bingham. Later in life Fae would get to know her blood mother, Thelma, and siblings. The Binghams moved to Charlo where Edwin’s “little brown eyed girl” grew up. Fae attended school in Charlo, was active in 4-H showing her dairy cattle and graduated in 1950. She found herself a handsome forest ranger, Ordie Tadlock, married him and had a daughter,...

Pat Wohlgemuth

Pat Wohlgemuth, 79, of Great Falls, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022, after a lengthy illness. Pat was born on January 15, 1943, to Rial and Edna (Wiprud) Carney of Dutton, MT. Pat was the third of eight children. Naming this third daughter took some time, and she was eventually named after her mother Edna. However, her father started calling her Pat at a young age, and the nickname stuck. Everyone knew better than to call her Edna, as she preferred Pat.
