ATWATER – Morris racked up 14 hits, scoring early and often in a 14-4 defeat of ACGC in Junior Legion baseball from Atwater. Kaleb Breuer led the charge going 4-5 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs. Johnny Kleindl doubled and knocked in a pair while scoring once, Landen Gibson had two hits, and RBI and run scored, Riley Asmus and Rylan Larson each had two hits, Asmus scored three runs, Larson once. Nuest named next head coach for Owl girls basketball

Chad Nuest was approved as the next head coach for the Hancock girls basketball program that won the Class A State Championship this past winter. He takes over for Tony Thielke, who resigned after leading the Owls to a 30-1 record, a Pheasant Conference and Section 6A championship in 2022 while closing out his coaching career as Class A Girls Basketball Coach of the Year.

Hancock School board discusses propsed work on the outdoor field spaces

Two very different proposals sparked a lengthy discussion by the Hancock School board on June 20. They decided that they need to know exactly what it is they want in regard to the upgrades at the football/baseball field and outdoor field space on school grounds before moving on in the process. That will mean a committee will meet to decide on those needs.

Nazarian granted bail and Conditional Release

Celebrating a big milestone

As I drove through the streets of Hancock last week, I felt a surge of pride. This community will be celebrating 150 years of existence this weekend and there is so much to be thankful for and appreciate. We are a very strong, caring community.
