PRATTVILLE — A long serving district judge and a seasoned prosecutor are vying for the Republican nomination for the open Autauga County circuit judge post. Current Circuit Judge Ben Fuller is retiring after 25 years on the bench. The 19th Judicial Circuit covers Autauga, Chilton and Elmore counties. There are three circuit judges, one from each county. But each judge hears cases in all three counties.

What once was a Chilton County Tradition from decades past, and formerly known as the East West All-Star Game, returned on May 13. It was the vision of Chilton County Superintendent Jason Griffin and the Clanton Lions Club in the form of the Chilton County Senior Showcase Baseball game. The May 10 Chilton County Commission meeting was focused around rebuilding both the walls that house the meetings – and the relationships that fuel them. Commissioner Joseph Parnell spoke about the courthouse and the ongoing talks about either to build a new one or remodel the current one. A new courthouse will cost the county around $30 million. Parnell has been against the remodeling of the current courthouse. However, his wife proposed a workable remodeling possibility to him.
