Lions Club hosts successful Fish Fry

In the minds of many, there’s nothing better than a good plate of fresh, hot catfish. That was the case June 9 as the Jacksboro Lions Club hosted its annual Fish Fry. The east side of the Jack County Courthouse resembled a to go restaurant with cookers, preparers and baggers getting the food out to hungry customers. Customers were allowed to eat-in among the shade trees nearby or take it to go which many decided to do. Plates consisted of beans, cole slaw, fish, hush puppies, biscuit and the normal accompaniments.

Bowie Trustees try out gym program; BHS principal leaving for superintendent job

Bowie School Trustees had some fun Monday night as they played on the elementary school’s new Lü interactive playground system. Meeting locations were shifted to allow the board an opportunity to see how the new system works in the gym. After the business of the night, the board and administrators tried out the system. Principal Kathy Green coordinated a spelling game that required you hit the letter on the wall screen with a ball, and a few others of the program.
