Right There on 75th Street!

Hey, Leslie Harris in for Nick Jakusz today. When I was on my way to work a couple of days ago, I had to stop and do some shopping along 75th Street. I think I was in Woodridge, a bit east of route 53, when I saw something very large and brown on the side of the road. There was a huge deer, right there, just grazing away. It was beautiful, and I would have stopped to take a picture of it if there wasn’t somebody right behind me! I do think the cars in front of me were slowing down to look at it.

Classic Spanish cuisine strikes gold in River North. The Spanish word “jaleo” can be translated to “revelry, commotion, fuss,” and it’s taken years for award-winning Spanish chef and humanitarian José Andrés to bring the hubbub to Chicago. Jaleo’s fifth location worldwide (the first opened in Washington, DC in 1993, when tapas were an unfamiliar concept stateside) landed at 500 N. Clark Street in River North in July, taking over the gorgeous corner space formerly occupied by Naha.

Stan’s Donuts & Coffee (Mag Mile)

We had a pretty great weekend getaway to Chicago. J and I both grew up near the City…her closer to it than me…but we both did a lot of Chicago things when we were kids. This weekend trip allowed us to do a lot of those Chicago things with our kids that we probably haven’t done since we were kids.
