Chicago Activists Hosting Dance Party, Potluck To Support Fight Against Minnesota Oil Pipeline On Indigenous Land

HYDE PARK — A lakefront dance party and potluck this weekend will support organizers protesting an oil pipeline being built on Indigenous land in northern Minnesota. The mutual aid event is being hosted by Chicago Against Line 3, a campaign joining organizers from multiple causes in the city to heighten visibility and spur support for protests against the Line 3 oil pipeline extension project. The planned extension would transport oil through Anishinaabe land in parts of Minnesota.

You may have noticed DTN's market coverage normally doesn't have a lot to say about Chicago wheat -- the contract representing the soft red winter (SRW) variety. MOUNT PROSPECT, ILL. — Kinzie Builders has completed construction of 10 North Main in downtown Mount Prospect, a suburb of Chicago. The $20 million luxury apartment complex rises five stories with 97 units, which range in size from 564 to 1,290 square feet. Amenities include a fitness center, coffee bar, club lounge and outdoor rooftop deck. Kinzie worked alongside owner First Equity Group LLC, developer Harlem Irving Cos. and architect OKW Architects. Other project team members included ECL Engineer Consultants, Pierce Engineering, LETech Inc., V3 Cos. and Kathryn Talty Landscape Architecture.

Two Philadelphia-area medical marijuana dispensaries part of $90M sale to Chicago firm

A Chicago cannabis company is paying $90 million for three Pennsylvania medical marijuana dispensaries, including two in the Philadelphia area. Cresco Labs Inc.'s deal is for Cure Penn locations at 4502 City Ave. in Philadelphia, 500 Kimberton Road in Phoenixville and a dispensary in Lancaster. Packaging manufacturer nVenia said its new facility in Wood Dale is now up and running. The company, which makes packaging systems and packaging equipment, said the 256,000-square-foot, $15 million office and manufacturing facility at 750 North Wood Dale Road is currently fully operational. The company will hold a grand opening celebration for the new facility on Oct. 1, with local and state officials from the city of Wood Dale, and the DuPage County Economic Development Committee attending. The company said its existing manufacturing sites will transition to this one facility throughout the year.
