Crash Investigation Leads to Drugs and Weapons Arrest

Delaware State Police arrested Tyree Jordan, 36, of Elkton, MD on drugs and weapons charges following a crash investigation Sunday night. On May 15, 2022, at approximately 11:38 p.m., troopers responded to the area of 2545 Pulaski Highway, Newark for a single vehicle crash investigation. Upon arrival troopers observed a male subject unclothed standing in the roadway. The subject identified as Tyree Jordan was also determined to be the operator of the vehicle and under the influence of an unknown substance. Jordan was taken into custody without incident and transported to Christiana Hospital for medical treatment. A subsequent search of his vehicle led to the discovery of two loaded 9mm handguns, approximately 2.24 grams of cocaine, approximately 22.87 grams of crack cocaine, approximately .46 grams of methamphetamine, approximately .385 grams of heroin, 10 Alprazolam pills, and over $2,000 in suspected drug proceeds. A computer inquiry also revealed Jordan is a person prohibited from possessing a weapon.

Dover man arrested for rape, robbery

DOVER, Del. – A Dover man is behind bars following a reported rape early Sunday morning. At around 2:15 a.m., officers responded to the parking lot of the Dover Library to check on the welfare of a 46-year-old female. The victim told police that she was sleeping near the entrance to the library when she was woken up by a male suspect who stole her phone and a knife. The victim reportedly told police that she tried screaming for help, but the suspect made threats against her life if she didn’t stop. The suspect then reportedly raped the victim and then fled on foot.

Troopers Arrest Man for Attempted Robbery

Delaware State Police have arrested 25-year-old Da’Jour Deshields of Dover, DE, for Attempted Robbery and Offensive Touching, following an incident on Saturday afternoon. On May 14th, 2022, at approximately 4:08 p.m., troopers responded to the Dollar General Store, located at 250 Gateway South Boulevard, in Dover, for an Attempted Robbery. There were two adult employees in the store during the incident. A witness informed troopers that a black male suspect entered the store and approached the first employee at the cash register. The suspect grabbed a shopping bag, pointed a toy gun at the employee, and demanded money from the cash register. When the employee refused to give him the money, the suspect ran behind the counter and rushed towards the second employee. The suspect pointed the toy gun at the second employee and demanded money. When the second employee refused to give the suspect money, the suspect rushed towards the second employee and started a physical altercation. The second employee fell to the ground, at which time the suspect struck the second employee in the body before fleeing the store. No one was injured during this incident. Through investigative efforts, troopers were able to identify Da’Jour Deshields as the suspect and recover the toy gun. Dover Police Department apprehended the suspect in the Dover area and transported him to Troop 3, where he was charged with the following crimes:

Dover police said that shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to the parking lot of the Dover Public Library at 35 Loockerman Plaza to check on the welfare of a 46-year-old woman. The woman told officers that she was sleeping near the entrance of the library when she was awakened by a black male suspect who stole her phones and a knife. The victim told police she tried screaming for help but the suspect made threats against her life if she did not stop. The suspect then raped the victim before running away, according to police.
