State of play: The city has two splash pads at its public pools, and both — plus all seven of Richmond's pools — are now open daily. Petersburg Police launch death investigation after shooting victim dies at the hospital

PETERSBURG — A woman who died in a hospital emergency room of a gunshot wound early Thursday morning is the city's 10th homicide of the year. Kadesha Williams, 26, of Petersburg, was one of two shooting victims brought to the ER at Bon Secours Southside Medical Center shortly after 4 a.m. Thursday. Changes in Virginia marijuana laws take effect July 1

RICHMOND, Va. (WDBJ) - New laws take effect July 1 in Virginia, and one of them will make it easier for people to purchase medical marijuana. Current law requires a medical cannabis card issued by the Virginia Board of Pharmacy, but starting Friday, patients will only need a written certification from a registered practitioner.

On March 9, 2017, Delecia Waddy went to the Kings Dominion Camp Wilderness Campground in the 10000 block of Kings Dominion Boulevard in Doswell, Virginia. 24-year-old Delecia attempted to bargain for a space on the campground but failed to secure a spot. The same day, Delecia created a post on her Facebook page that read: "Its never too late to do the right thing. Don't get discouraged. (Speaking to myself also)."
