Bulldogs bow out of playoffs with Milford loss

JUAN DIEGO H.S.—The Bulldogs’ typical presence in the later rounds of playoff baseball was not to be felt in 2022. Gunnison Valley baseball finished their season in the second round of the one-loss bracket in the 2A baseball state championship tournament, losing in a tight matchup to Milford last Thursday, 7-5. The Bulldogs finished their season with an overall record of 9-18, their only season with more losses than wins since before the year 2000.

Manti High green car team sweeps state meet

GRANTSVILLE – Manti High School recently took first place in all categories of competition at the Green Power race at the Utah Motor Sports Campus on April 26. The Manti team consisted of Mathew Olson, an aspiring engineer, along with Kaylee Olson, Joshua Pells, Grace Draper, Allison Olson. Their coach was Jared Eliason.

Little Miss Mt. Pleasant royalty named

Junior Miss Mt. Pleasant was held on Saturday, May 14 at North Sanpete High School. The program is a fundraiser for the Miss Mt Pleasant Scholarship pageant. The young ladies that were crowned will assist Miss Mt. Pleasant in her duties over the next year. Three age groups were crowned that evening.

Fundraisers set to benefit Mike Black family

Black lost his right arm and sustained multiple broken bones when he was battered by a runaway tractor. Mt. Pleasant building demolished

MT. PLEASANT— A building on 50 West 100 South in Mt. Pleasant was taken down on Monday, May 9. What used to serve as a livery stable for a nearby hotel has not been used for several years. Fairview rural senior adult services get grant

FAIRVIEW—The Rural Senior Adult Services (RSAS) of Fairview is the recipient of a $2,000 grant from the Rocky Mountain Power/Pacificorp Foundation. Cullen Irvine, a representative of the power company and foundation gave a check to board members of the senior center, including Milette Mackay and Donna Seager, in a small ceremony in late March.
