102nd Alumni Priest to be Ordained

Deacon Dominic Winter ’18 will be ordained to the priesthood this Saturday, May 28, in the Diocese of Lincoln, Nebraska. Deacon Winter, who has been studying with fellow alumni at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, will become Christendom’s one-hundred and second alumni priest upon his ordination, helping to spread the joy of Christ to the faithful in the Diocese of Lincoln.

Spotted Lanternfly continues to be an issue

WINCHESTER, Va. – The Virginia Cooperative Extension says we continue to see young spotted lanternfly nymphs throughout portions of the Northern Shenandoah Valley. The invasive and destructive species has become established in Clarke, Frederick, Page, Shenandoah, and Warren counties along with the city of Winchester. There is no longer a need to report the insect in these areas. What the extension office is urging you to do is contact them for information on best management approaches for you to conduct on your property.

Shenandoah National Park offers tips for Memorial Day Weekend

LURAY — Shenandoah, like many national parks, is expecting an especially busy weekend. Old Rag day-hiking tickets are sold out for Saturday and Sunday with limited availability for Monday. Campground reservations are also sold out for the weekend and first-come, first-served sites are expected to go quickly. Shenandoah’s social media will provide updates. Lodging is also fully booked. And, Shenandoah is a popular day-trip destination, so all indications are that Memorial Day weekend will be a very busy time.
