Documentary “She” Premieres at Strand Center Theatre on July 9th

Author Aimee Baker and filmmakers Jason Greer and Vanessa Cicarelli have teamed up to produce the new documentary, SHE, based on Aimee Baker’s award-winning book of poetry, titled Doe, that gives a voice to some of the thousands of women who go missing, or whose unidentified remains are found every year. The Colchester selectboard approved a change in the Colchester Code of Ordinances, requiring all dogs on Colchester recreation paths to be kept on a six-foot leash. At the selectboard’s June 14 public hearing, Glen Cuttitta, parks and recreation director, along with members of the Recreation Advisory Committee, brought the board the changes. Pollination Station: Early Summer Update

Last year, Mountain Lake PBS planted our very own Pollination Station on the lawn of 1 Sesame Street—our home base in Plattsburgh, NY. Pollinator-friendly plants in three honeycomb shaped garden beds provide food in the summer and shelter during winter for butterflies, birds, and bees. After our first year of watering, weeding, and fending off some persistent bunnies, we are proud to say the garden was thriving!

Did you take part in any clubs or activities at St. Mike’s that were important to you or shaped your experience there? Yes – I played for four years on both the women’s lacrosse and rugby teams. ‘Pick your own’ strawberry season opens at Paul Mazza’s, an Essex and Colchester fruit and vegetable stand

ESSEX JUNCTION — Through a hedge-framed road, following the arrows past the farm stand and down a dirt path is a field of strawberries now open for pick-your-own season. The season officially began on June 15 at Paul Mazza’s farm stand on Poor Farm Road. Berry-pickers can park right next to the fields, grab a cardboard flat and fill it with fresh strawberries.
