MORTON COUNTY, N.D. (KFYR) - A New Town man has been arrested after deputies say he led them on a high-speed chase in Mandan Wednesday. Morton County Sheriff’s deputies say they saw 40-year-old Dustin Ward driving at a high rate of speed along Expressway near the BNSF bridge. They say as they tried to pull him over, he fled at speeds of around 110 miles per hour. Deputies say they stopped pursuing due to public safety but located Ward a short time later at the Flying J truck stop.

RAY, N.D. (KFYR) - A two-vehicle accident between a pickup and a tractor occurred 9 miles west of Ray Monday afternoon. Officers say both vehicles were traveling on U.S. Highway 2 when the pickup, driven by a 23-year-old male from Montana, rear-ended the tractor driven by 42-year-old Patrick Evanson of Williston.

The Valley City State University Great Plains STEM Education Center (GPSEC) hosted students on campus for INSTEM Academy sessions June 5-9 and June 19-23. A total of 38 students from New Town Public Schools and Eight Mile School District in Trenton, N.D. participated in a wide variety of STEM classroom and lab experiences taught by VCSU faculty. Students also took field trips to area STEM-related businesses including the Red River Zoo, Aldevron, Doosan-Bobcat and John Deere Seeding Group.

Williston, ND (KEYZ) A 42-year-old Williston man sustains minor injuries Monday, June 27 after being rear-ended on Highway 2 west of Ray. The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that a Ram pickup driven by 23-year-old Beau Hyatt of Bainville, Montana struck the rear end of a John Deere tractor being operated by 42-year-old Patrick Evanson of Williston around 3:00 p.m. Monday afternoon. Both vehicles were traveling westbound on Highway 2, nine miles west of Ray.

July 9-10, the Buffalo Trails Museum, Epping, will be pleased to present the 56th Annual Buffalo Trails Day. There are lots of activities planned this year. Mayor Bemis will take his place in the dunk tank near the pavilion at 5 p.m. Ted and Keri will perform at the Main Street Pavilion at 8 p.m.. There will be fireworks at dark, weather permitting.
