Police investigate homicide at North Charleston mattress store

NORTH CHARLESTON — A man was found dead in an apparent shooting the morning of May 26 inside a mattress store. North Charleston police officers were dispatched around 10:15 a.m. for a medical emergency at Mattress Deals at 5900 Rivers Ave., spokesman Harve Jacobs said. The man was found dead inside the store from a possible gunshot wound, though the Charleston County Coroner's Office is still investigating, Jacobs said.

Deputy involved in deadly wreck still on paid administrative leave; family calling for transparency
