Fort Thompson Man Sentenced for Sexual Abuse of a Minor

A Fort Thompson, South Dakota, man convicted of Sexual Abuse of a Minor was sentenced on May 10, 2021, by Chief Judge Roberto A. Lange, U.S. District Court. Dawson Donner, age 23, was sentenced to 37 months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, and a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100.

Woman pleads Guilty in federal court for stealing from Missouri Valley Crisis Center in Chamberlain

A 63 year old woman from Sioux Falls has pled guilty in federal court to a charge of Making a Materially False Statement. Court information says beginning on or about September 2016 until February 2019, Tami Haug-Davis was the Director of the Missouri Valley Crisis Center in Chamberlain. During this time, MVCC was funded in large part by state and federal grants, awarded by the South Dakota Department of Social Services. MVCC received funds from the following federal grants: Family Violence Prevention Services, Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families and Crime Victims Assistance and Department of Justice, Office of Victims of Crime.

A Fort Thompson man will serve 2 1/2 years in federal prison following an involuntary manslaughter conviction involving drunk driving and the death of his passenger. Antoine Medicine Crow Jr., 38, was sentenced on Sept. 21 to 30 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release and a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund of $100. U.S. District Court Chief Judge Roberto Lange presided over the sentencing.

Men from Pierre, Fort Thompson and Mitchell were arrested and face charges after a traffic stop in Pierre around 8pm yesterday (Dec. 16, 2020). Information from the Pierre Police Department says a traffic stop was made in the Dairy Queen parking (at Sioux and Poplar) when an officer observed 30 year old Dillon BigEagle of Pierre in a vehicle traveling on Sioux Avenue. The officer knew BigEagle had several warrants out for his arrest. When the car stopped, 36 year old Donald BigEagle of Fort Thompson ran from the vehicle.
