Holmes announced that a Pine Ridge, South Dakota, man was acquitted of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, Assault with Intent to Commit Murder, and Discharge of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime of Violence following a three-day federal jury trial in Rapid City, South Dakota, commencing on October 5, 2021.

Two Denver men found guilty of killing Pine Ridge man in 2016

Two Denver men have been found guilty by a federal jury for the 2016 shooting death of Vincent Brewer III outside of the Boys and Girls Club in Pine Ridge. Adan Corona, 35, and Francisco Villanueva, 45, were found guilty of first-degree murder, felony murder and conspiracy to commit assault.

Greggory is described as being Native American, 4’11” and weighing approximately 150lbs, black hair, brown eyes, last seen wearing a white hat, black shirt, black pants, black and white shoes. Greggory was last seen at approximately 7:30pm at Pump & Pantry in Chadron, getting into a black 4-door sedan, possibly a Ford Fusion with SD plates.

Two Colorado men convicted in shooting of Pine Ridge man

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Two Colorado men were found guilty for an execution-style shooting of a Pine Ridge man that took place in October of 2016. Francisco Villanueva, 43, and Adan Corona, 35, of Denver, Colorado, were convicted September 29, 2021, of multiple crimes following a two-week federal jury trial.

District court arraigns Chadron man for July murder

The Chadron man charged with the city’s first homicide in nearly 13 years was formally arraigned in Dawes County District Court on Tuesday. 20-year old Ian Little Moon, who commonly goes by Sage Little Moon, waived his preliminary hearing in county court last month on charges of 1st-degree murder and felony. He remains in custody without bond. A status hearing is set for Dec 14.

Chadron students meet local law officers

CHADRON – Law enforcement officers met with more than 20 students and community members Thursday at Chadron State College’s Sandoz Center Chicoine Atrium. Chadron Police Officer Sam Cafferty, who organized the event, studied Criminal Justice at CSC and played football team. His interest in law enforcement was encouraged by his uncle, an officer for the Boise Police Department in Idaho, and grew though riding along with officers as part of his high school senior project.

Chadron police arrest Rapid City man on drug and weapons charges

A Rapid City man is behind bars after a weekend traffic stop in Chadron ended with the discovery of cocaine and a stolen firearm. 20-year-old Jaylon Jackson remains in the Dawes County jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of a stolen firearm. His bail is $100,000.
