KY 80 in Perry County to experience short delays June 29

JACKSON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Motorists taking KY 80 in Perry County should expect short traffic stoppages and delays for utility work on Tuesday, June 29. At milepoint 8.299, the road will be closed for two 10-minute intervals starting at 10 a.m. for workers to install an overhead cable. The work will take place at the four-lane section of KY 80 between the KY 15/Hal Rogers Parkway interchange and the traffic signal at Justice Drive/Fitz Gilbert Drive.

Pound, Virginia, man sentenced for illegally selling firearms

POUND, Va. — A Pound, Virginia, man who illegally sold firearms without a license was sentenced last Tuesday to eight months in prison. James Michael Boggs, 66, pleaded guilty in March to one count of willfully engaging in the business of selling firearms without a license, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a news release. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives began an investigation of firearm sales at the Indian Mountain Trade Center in 2019 to identify and monitor individuals who appeared to be in the business of dealing firearms without a federal firearms license. Investigators said they saw Boggs, and others, regularly selling firearms to attendees, the release states.

(HAZARD, KY) Your choice of gas station could be costing you as much as $0.00 if you’re buying diesel in Hazard, according to a recent price survey. The survey, which looked at prices across the Hazard area on Tuesday, found that Shell at 108 E Main Sthad the cheapest advertised diesel, at just $3.09 per gallon. By comparison, the most expensive station in the area was Shell at 108 E Main St, which listed a per-gallon price of $3.09.
