Bismarck Woman Injured in Wreck

(St. Francois County, MO) A woman from Bismarck, 46 year old Christina P. Avalos, is recovering from moderate injuries after she was in a one vehicle wreck Thursday evening in St. Francois County. According to Highway Patrol reports Avalos was driving an SUV south on Route NN, south of Highway 221, at 6:50, when an unknown vehicle traveling north lost an unsecured large barrel of liquid that fell into the southbound lane of 221. The barrel hit the front of the SUV. Avalos was taken to Parkland Health Center at Farmington. She was wearing a seat belt when the wreck took place.

Van Buren Woman Injured In Crash in Ellington

A woman from Van Buren was injured in an ATV accident late Monday night July 26, in Reynolds County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened on South Road, just inside the city limits of Ellington, when a Polaris Ranger driven by 20-year-old Jerika Chilton ran off the road and hit a sign.

Gravett Named Chief of Bismarck Fire Protection

(Bismarck, MO) Kegan Gravett, of Bismarck, is being appointed as the new Bismarck Fire Protection District Chief by District Board Members. A post on the Bismarck Fire Protection District's Facebook page states Gravett was officially appointed as Chief during July's District Board Meeting. Chief Gravett has served as a FIrefighter and Lieutenant on the Bismarck Fire Department and is Captain on the Fruitland Area Fire Protection District. Gravett and his family have called Bismarck home for six years.

Lieutenant Governor Visits Ironton Bike Park

Mike Kehoe, the lieutenant governor of Missouri visited our area on Thursday, July 28th. Mr. Kehoe had heard so much about Shepherd Mountain bike park that he wanted to see it. Also in attendance were Elaine Gannon who is a member of the Missouri Senate, representing District 3, Chris Dinkins from the Missouri House of Representatives, District 144, Donna Hickman, district office director for Congressman Jason Smith, Shelby Chan, mayor of Pilot Knob, and Jim Scaggs, Presiding Commissioner of Iron County. Unfortunately, Ironton’s Mayor Bob Lourwood was unable to attend.
