Six Connecticut residents are listed in the Forbes 400 list of richest Americans that came out Sept. 27 and features the richest men and women in the country. The six residents in Connecticut featured are Ray Dalio, Steve Cohen, Karen Pritzker, Todd Boehly, Brad Jacobs and Stephen Mandel, Jr. According to Forbes, Dalio, Cohen and Mandel, Jr. got their of wealth from hedge funds, Pritzker from hotels and investments, Boehly from finance and Jacobs from logistics. Their combined net worth totals $55 billion.

A 76-year-old man has died after driving his SUV into the water at a marina in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, despite efforts by witnesses to save him. The man has been identified as Steven Mark Wahle. State Trooper Tased Man Who Later Died for More Than a Minute, Bodycam Shows

Newly released bodycam and dashcam footage shows Connecticut state troopers using a stun gun on Ryan Marzi for over a minute straight the night of Aug. 24, four days before he would unexpectedly die in his sleep. State troopers Desmond Stimson and Jessie Rainville were responding to a domestic violence incident in Canterbury in which Marzi was alleged to have damaged a victim’s cellphone and was refusing to let her leave the property. In a graphic video released by state police, Marzi cries out multiple times that he is unable to turn over onto his stomach to comply with the officers’ demands while the Taser buzzes in the background until Stimson tells Rainville “enough of that.” Marzi was taken to a hospital for evaluation before he was charged with assault in the third degree and interfering with an officer, according to a police statement. Three New Officers to Join MPD Ranks

Three new officers will be joining the ranks of the Madison Police Department (MPD) following completion of six-months of police academy training. According to Public Information Officer Lt. Jeremy Yorke, candidates for police positions in Connecticut must first apply to a local department, get hired, and then they are sent to the Academy. Previously, candidates would complete Academy training and then go out and seek employment, according to Yorke.
