Two Greenville women were jailed Thursday after heroin and methamphetamine were found during a traffic stop in Sulphur Springs Thursday evening, according to arrest reports. Two men were also booked into Hopkins County jail over the past couple of days on controlled substance related warrants, according to arrest and jail reports.

ROYSE CITY, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) — A man was arrested in North Texas after he allegedly murdered a mother of three at a hotel in Royse City and drove her body to Houston, police said Thursday.The Royse City Police Department said it served an arrest warrant for murder on Reynaldo Chavez, of Houston. He is accused of murdering Sandra Denise Martinez, 47, a mother of three from Quinlan, at the American Inn Motel at 300 E. Houston Man Charged With Quinlan Woman’s Murder

Last April, authorities arrested a suspect in the murder of a Quinlan woman at a Royse City motel. Friends filed a missing person report, and detectives later determined that the suspect entered a room with Reynaldo Chavez of Houston. The video showed Chavez leaving with what appeared to be a body and putting it in the car, and they later found Martinez’s body in Houston. Rockwall Police arrested Chavez on June 25 on unrelated charges. Royse City Police and Texas Rangers later arrested him for murder, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon, and Theft of a Firearm.

Greenville's Fourth Of July Celebration Is An All-Day Affair

Pud says the day starts at 7:30 a.m. with the Firecracker 5K and Fun Run leaving from the Kavanaugh United Methodist Church on Park Street. The annual Fourth of July parade will start at 10 a.m. on Park Street, followed by a patriotic program of songs, readings and watermelon at Kavanaugh. The "Bottle Rocket Bash" begins at 6 p.m. at the Greenville Sports Park with many attractions, concluding with fireworks at dark.
