Park Church to celebrate ‘4th’ next Thursday

The Park Center annual 4th of July celebration will be held Thursday evening, June 30. Everyone is welcome to attend and celebrate Independence Day!. According to Gwen Kinney, a potluck meal will be served at 7 p.m. Afterwards there will be fun and games for all ages on the playgrounds.

Borer inducted Saturday into NEMHCA Hall of Fame

Elgin native Steve Borer was inducted Saturday night into the Nebraska Eight Man Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame. For nearly 20 years, Borer served as head coach for the Brady Eagles where he garnered a 76-68 record and made two state football playoff appearances. During that time he was elected as an NEMFCA officer and was honored as an assistant coach for the West All-Stars in 1998. Albion Cornerstone Seniors roll to tourney championship

Albion’s Cornerstone Legion Seniors outscored their opposition 35-4 and won individual gold medals as champions of the Creighton Berry Pepper Tournament June 18-19.
