Police: Man Wanted In Alleged Sexual Assault At Dearborn Walmart Arrested

(CBS DETROIT) – A man wanted in connection to an alleged sexual assault at a Walmart store was arrested on June 23, according to the Dearborn Police Department. The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Marshal Dwight Brown with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. On Thursday, June 2, at about 2 p.m., officers responded to a report of a man in an Amazon hat and shirt inappropriately touching a female in Walmart, located at 5851 Mercury Drive. According to police, the victim confronted the suspect and a brief struggle ensued, and then surveillance footage shows the suspect fleeing in a white crossover SUV. Police asked the community for tips, and after receiving several, Brown was arrested in Lyon Township. He was arraigned Friday, June 24, and was issued a $5,000 or 10% cash bond. Detroit Woman Charged With First-Degree Murder In Fatal Shooting Of Boyfriend

(CBS DETROIT) — A Detroit woman accused of fatally shooting her boyfriend is charged with first-degree premeditated murder. According to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, 51-year-old Antoinette Denise Moore is also charged with tampering with evidence and felony firearm. Prosecutors say on June 24, Moore allegedly shot 47-year-old Willie Grant Jr. during an argument. At about 8:03 p.m. that day, police were called to a home in the 16000 block of Bringard Street in Detroit for a reported shooting and found Grant lying face down on the front lawn with a gunshot wound to the back. (AP) — Michigan lawmakers approved a $101 million incentive package for Ford Motor Co. for a planned project that will create 3,030 jobs and $1.16 billion in manufacturing facility investments throughout the state. The tax-funded incentive will be paid in increments and is contingent on Ford hitting promised employment targets. Michigan Gas Prices Down 11 Cents From Last Week Ahead Of July 4th Weekend

(CBS DETROIT) — Michigan’s average gas price is trending downward, dropping by 11 cents ahead of the Fourth of July weekend. According to AAA, the state’s average price for regular gas on Monday sits at $5.04, which is a decrease from $5.15 last week. With prices dropping, some parts of the state are reporting an average below $5. Traverse City and Benton Harbor, for example, have an average price of $4.93, while the Grand Rapids-Muskegon-Holland area reports $4.95 and Saginaw-Bay City-Midland at $4.99. Starting on June 29, fireworks can be discharged from 11 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. every day through the night of Monday, July 4, 2022. Here are some rules for residents to keep in mind: It is illegal to use fireworks while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and fireworks Fireworks cannot be discharged from parks, roadways, or other public property Written permission must be obtained to fire off fireworks from private property In addition to this, city officials say if the Fire Chief puts a firework ban in place due to dry conditions, it is unlawful for residents to discharge fireworks. Police: Body Found In Drainage Area In Chesterfield Township

(CBS DETROIT) — Chesterfield Township police are investigating after a body was found on Sunday in a drainage area. According to a press release, police say at about 5:45 p.m. on June 26, an Ann Arbor man was walking on Gratiot Avenue near 22 Mile Road when he found the body in the area with “heavily overgrown vegetation.” Police were called to the area and discovered that the body had been there for some time. The Macomb County Medical Examiner’s Office was called and the body was recovered by investigators. The Chesterfield Township Detective Bureau is investigating. MSP Investigating After Man Shot On Lodge Freeway

(CBS DETROIT) – Michigan State Police are investigating after a man reported he was shot on the Lodge Freeway early on Sunday. At 1:26 a.m. on June 26, troopers were dispatched to Detroit Receiving Hospital after the man reported he had been shot. According to police, the man said he was leaving a party on Outer Drive near Sinai-Grace Hospital when he noticed a crossover-type vehicle following him. The man entered the Lodge at Meyers, heading southbound in the left lane, and then the suspect in the other vehicle started shooting at him. Police say the man’s vehicle was struck several times, and the man was struck twice on his right side. MSP recovered the victim’s vehicle and towed it to the post for processing.
