Jamestown Man Accused of Ripping Off Victim's Hair in Domestic Dispute

A Jamestown man was taken into custody on charges stemming from a domestic dispute early Sunday. Jamestown Police responded to an address on Prospect Street at about 1:15 AM for an incident that took place on Hazeltine Avenue. An investigation found that 36-year-old Mark Goldsmith allegedly assaulted a female by ripping a large section of hair off her head. Goldsmith was located shortly thereafter and charged with 3rd-degree assault and 2nd-degree harassment. Police say he was being held pending arraignment.

Silver Creek Man Arrested After Report of Disturbance in Hanover

Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Silver Creek man after responding to a report of a disturbance in the Town of Hanover on Wednesday. Deputies arrived at a residence on Angell Road just before 2:00 PM and determined that a subject, later identified as 39-year-old Shaun Ellison, had obstructed another person's breathing at the residence and had unwanted physical contact with that person. Ellison was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and 2nd-degree harassment. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment and will answer the charges in Hanover Town Court. State Police assisted with the investigation.
