Police: Missing Ellis Co. woman found dead near railroad tracks

ELLIS COUNTY —The Ellis Police Department released more details Friday afternoon into the disappearance of a 53-year-old Ellis woman. According to Ellis Chief of Police Avery Smith, the body of 53-year-old Twila Wilson was found just after 9:30 a.m. Friday approximately 1,000 feet to the west of the Cottonwood Street railroad crossing.

ELLIS, Kan. (KWCH) - The Ellis Police Department said a woman died after she was struck by a train while walking on along the tracks. Police said Twila Wilson, 53, was called in as a missing person on Friday around 7:09 a.m. after she failed to show up for work.

Moss-Thorns exhibit at FHSU focuses on animal mistreatment

A master's student at Fort Hays State University is highlighting the mistreatment of wild creatures and the environment in his MFA art exhibit "Inhumane." Jordan Brown's exhibit is on display now through Wednesday at the Moss-Thorns Gallery of Art on the Fort Hays State University campus. The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays during the summer months.

Schedule Release: 2022-23 Concordia Shooting Sports

SEWARD, Neb. – The 2022-23 schedule is set for first-year Head Coach Dylan Owens' program. Owens will make his official debut leading Concordia Shooting Sports in mid-September when the team will compete at the Fort Hays State Fall Intercollegiate Shoot in Hays, Kan. That event will mark the first of seven events during the fall and first of 11 for the 2022-23 campaign as a whole. As usual, the season will culminate at the national shoot in San Antonio, Texas.

Police: Missing Kansas woman presumed to be struck by train

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - It is believed that Twila Wilson, a 53-year-old from Ellis, Kansas, was struck by a train as she was crossing the tracks. The Ellis Police Department say that they were notified that Twila was missing around 7:09 on July 1 after she did not show up to her work. Twila's vehicle was then found in the 900 block of Cottonwood Street along with her cell phone.
