The Cass County Health Department reported the 36th Death related to COVID-19 in the county today. CCHD says that 4 new cases of the virus were reported over the past week, bring the county’s case count to 2,042. The 4 new cases are the only active cases currently in the county, with 1 currently hospitalized.

VIRGINIA, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — A Cass County man is facing multiple charges relating to child pornography and sexual abuse. The coordinator of Crime Stoppers of Morgan, Scott and Cass County has been re-elected president of the state Crimestoppers organization. Loren Hamilton was named president of Illinois State Crimestoppers during its annual conference. He will be serving his third term as president.

2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Cass County?

There were 18 offenders released on parole during 2020 that live in Cass County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by West Central Reporter. The data shows 14 men and four women were released in Cass County. Of the parolees, one was a veteran, and the median age was 38. The youngest parolee was a 26-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2018, and the oldest was a 54-year-old man convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2019.
