Firefighters respond to a pair of auto accident

NORWALK — It was a busy two days for the Norwalk Fire Department. Firefighters responded Friday afternoon to a vehicle crash on West Washington Road. When they arrived on scene they found a three-vehicle crash with moderate damage to two vehicles. No smoke or fire was showing from any of the vehicles, Capt. Charles Hillman said in his report.

Pedestrian struck and killed on Route 42 in Richland County

OHIO, USA — A 72-year-old man is dead after being hit by a car late Saturday night in Richland County. The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Neil Miller, of Lexington, was walking on U.S. Route 42 in Madison Township between the Route 30 ramps when he was struck by a northbound vehicle around 9:30 p.m. Fire and EMS crews rushed to the area, but Miller was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A pedestrian walking along a roadway in Madison Township was reportedly hit and killed on Saturday evening. 72-year old Neil Miller of Lexington was walking on US 42, between the US 30 ramps, at around 9:30 p.m. and entered the northbound lane when a 40-year-old driver in a 2016 Nissan SUV allegedly hit him.

Buehler’s to Open a Liquor Agency in Galion, Ohio

Buehler’s Fresh Foods announced May 10 plans to open a liquor store in Galion, Ohio, offering an assortment of more than 300 beers and 400 wines. The Wooster, Ohio-based retailer currently operates 14 supermarkets and seven liquor stores in Ohio. The Galion Liquor Agency will be located in the Galion West Shopping Plaza just one door down from Buehler’s Fresh Foods grocery store, which opened in 2021. An opening date for Galion Liquor Agency has yet to be announced.

Saturday, May 14 7am-1pm, Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 State Route 598. In conjunction with the Pancakes in the Park Breakfast, we’ll be banding birds on the front porch of the Nature Center. Join Bob Placier and Crawford Park District staff for a morning of science! We’ll be monitoring mist nets to see which birds inhabit or pass-through Lowe-Volk Park. Banding is used to track trends in bird populations, among other research applications. All ages welcome and grab some pancakes in support of your Park District!
