Hugging? Shaking hands? As the pandemic eases, 'a huge sense of normalcy' returns to Stamford

STAMFORD — Mayor David Martin begged the city to stay home for months on end. “No large gatherings,” he said at an early January COVID-19 press conference. “No parties. There are requirements right now from the state that state that you’re not supposed to be organizing events with more than 10 people in them. And we will give tickets to those people who violate these rules.”

(POUGHKEEPSIE, NY) Gas prices vary across in the Poughkeepsie area, but if you’re willing to head for the cheapest station, you could be saving up to $0.37 per gallon. According to a survey by GasBuddy, Gulf at 688 Freedom Plains Rd was the cheapest station in the area, with regular listed at $2.82 per gallon at the pumps Wednesday. That was compared to Mobil at 2646 South Rd, where a gallon of regular was selling for $3.19.

(STAMFORD, CT) Gas prices vary across in the Stamford area, but if you’re willing to head for the cheapest station, you could be saving up to $0.62 per gallon. On Saturday the cheapest gallon of unleaded regular in the area was at CITGO at 953 Hope St. Regular there was listed at $2.97 per gallon Wednesday, compared to $3.59 at Shell at 142 Railroad Ave, which GasBuddy clocked as the most expensive station in the area.
