Champions! Arkport-Canaseraga sweeps Section V Track and Field titles

The Arkport-Canaseraga Girls and Boys Track and Field teams both earned Section V Class B4 Championships on Saturday afternoon in their event at Dundee. The boys team finished with 98 total team points, which was 19 points higher than any other team in the meet. The Wolves were led by Pierce Young, who had an absolutely phenomenal weekend. Pierce finished with three individual Section V Championships, finishing first in the 1600 with a 4:44.80, first in the 3200 with a time of 10:42.92 and first in the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 11:42.51.

WELLSVILLE SOFTBALL: An historic championship for the Lady Lions

WELLSVILLE — Wellsville head coach Matt Burke had seen all of this before. Just like his two previous trips to the Section V, Class B2 Finals, Monday’s game was a tightly-contested pitcher’s duel right to the final innings of play. But 2021 was a different year with a different team.

B-R, Wellsville capture sectional glory

BRADFORD — The Dundee/Bradford BraveScots softball team took a 7-0 record when playing at Bradford into the Class C2 semifinal against the Bolivar-Richburg Wolverines. It was a rocking environment Saturday morning with a packed crowd from both sides surrounding the entire field with parked cars behind the left fence blaring music to pump up the home faithful during half-inning breaks.

Boat Racing on Keuka Lake This Weekend

There will be racing on the southern end of Keuka Lake this weekend. Champlin Beach in Hammondsport will be the site of a United States Title Series Boat Race that will feature anywhere between 70 and 80 competitors. According to the Title Series website, boats typically reach speeds of up to 120 miles per hour.
