Two New COVID-19 Related Deaths Reported in Steuben County

The Steuben County Public Health Department received notification of the deaths of two individuals who had previously tested positive for COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Steuben County to 186. One individual was a male resident of the Town of Canisteo who died at the age of 59 and the other was a female resident of the Village of Arkport who died at the age of 61.

Boost for the arts: Studio Tour by Allegany Artisans returning in 2021 after COVID hiatus

Allegany Artisans announced this week that the annual Studio Tour is on for 2021. After much deliberation and optimism, the Allegany Artisans Board of Directors has decided to move forward with plans to hold its annual Studio Tour this year as usual on the weekend following Columbus Day. Artisans will be welcoming visitors to local studios on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 16 and 17. Some studios will hold a Friday night reception on Oct. 15.

BELMONT — Health officials reported no new COVID-19 cases over the weekend in Allegany County. On Monday, officials from the Allegany County Department of Health reported no new cases on Saturday, Sunday or Monday. Officials do not update the online tracking system over the weekend. Three New COVID Cases in Steuben County

Only three new COVID-19 cases in Steuben County this week. The positive tests came from the towns of Dansville, Erwin and Troupsburg. Those known to have been in close contact with the positive cases have been notified. There are currently 26 active cases in the county. 69-hundred Steuben County residents have contracted COVID since the pandemic began.

COVID vaccine clinics continue in Allegany County

BELMONT — One new COVID-19 case was reported in Allegany County as officials hope to improve the county’s worst-in-state vaccine record. The Allegany County Department of Health reported that the new case brings the total to date to 3,602. Of those, 3,529 were reported as recovered. State officials report 87 deaths to date among county residents. Officials reported 347 people were tested June 10 for the disease.
