Big Decisions Nearing For Trio of Arkansas Targets

FAYETTEVILLE — A trio of key University of Arkansas football targets have set dates to announce their decision on where they will go to college. Pinson (Ala.) Valley three-star safety TJ Metcalf, 6-1, 185, will announce his decision on Friday. Next up will be East St. Louis (Ill.) four-star offensive lineman Paris Patterson, 6-6, 345, will make his choice known at 5 p.m. (CT) on Monday, July 4. Then Frisco (Texas) Lone Star four-star cornerback Jaylon Braxton, 6-0, 170, has his announcement scheduled for Saturday, July 9.

NWA Food Bank to break ground on 82,000-square-foot facility in Lowell

LOWELL, Ark. — The Northwest Arkansas Food Bank will break ground on its new hunger relief center in Lowell Thursday. The new 82,000-square-foot facility is set to open by the end of 2023 or beginning of 2024, and will more than double the number the food bank can serve from 70,000 people to about 150,000 people.

Harvey "Lee" Goodwin, a Little Rock native, was a talented and internationally known female impersonator with a career spanning more than three decades. Starting in the 1930s, he performed as women in various song, dance and comedy acts under the stage name of "Harvey Lee." Credits include performances in movies, nightclubs, grand stages and even a show for President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Introduced as "The Incomparable Mr. Harvey Lee," she was later called the Delineator of the Divine Feminine. Harvey Lee was popular for her realistic portrayals of women and a flair for performance.
