THP: No injuries reported after three cars crash on I-75 in Campbell Co. Sunday afternoon

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Highway Patrol said no injuries were reported after three cars crashed on I-75 North in Campbell County Sunday afternoon. According to a report, they said the crash happened near the 136-mile marker at around 1 p.m. on Sunday. They said a 2014 Chrysler 2LM driven by Joseph Duby Jr., 54, hit a 2013 GMC Sierra on the highway as it was driving behind it. The Sierra then crashed into a 2013 Volvo S60, according to a report.

CCSO Officers receive specialized training

JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- Officers with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department are strengthening their skills to help keep the community safe. In May, Sgt. Brandon Gross and Deputy Joseph Weaver attended a five day Basic Clandestine Lab Safety and Level A Certification class hosted by the Tennessee Dangerous Drug Task Force in Bell Buckle. During the class, Gross and Weaver were taught how to properly identify, sample, dismantle, and process clandestine meth lab sites. Some of the topics covered in this course included new trends in the manufacturing of methamphetamine, toxicology, chemical hazards, physical hazards, decontamination, and other safety procedures. In addition to methamphetamine, the class also provided detailed coverage of narcotics such as Heroin, Fentanyl, PCP, and LSD.

Man charged with DUI after wrong-way crash on I-75

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a man is facing DUI and other charges after driving the wrong way on I-75 Saturday night and colliding with another vehicle. The THP says that 71-year-old Richard Lewis had been driving north in the southbound lanes of I-75 in Campbell County shortly after 10:15 pm Saturday, when his Honda CRV struck a southbound Ford F150. Lewis then hit a guard rail, according to the accident report and drove away, still headed the wrong way on the interstate.

THP: ATV wreck sends juvenile to hospital

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says that a juvenile was injured in what was described as a rollover ATV accident Wednesday night. The THP says that 43-year-old Jeffrey Flora of Ohio had been headed west on a Polaris ATV on Mariner Point Road in Campbell County’s Cedar Creek area when he lost control of the ATV and went off the side of the road before overturning.

Wrong way I-75 driver wrecks and leaves scene

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – A Knoxville man remains housed in the Campbell County Jail this morning after an eventful Saturday night on Interstate 75. Reports coming in to WLAF are that 71-year- old Richard Lewis was injured when he was allegedly driving north in the south lanes of I-75 soon after 10pm June 12. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Lewis’ Honda CRV hit a Ford F-150 pick-up truck, that was traveling correctly, south in the south lane. Lewis allegedly kept driving after the collision until his car stalled out in the roadway near Mile Marker 133.

Anonymous donation to feed lots of pets

On Wednesday, the Campbell County Animal Shelter received a massive, anonymous donation of pet food. Officials say that they received an email stating that a donated tractor-trailer full of food was going to be delivered on Wednesday, and when it did arrive, contained approximately 37,000 pounds of food valued at roughly $70,000.
