More disturbing letters found at Campbell Co. churches

JACKSBORO, Tenn. (WVLT) -Since Monday, there have been “disturbing” letters reported to the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office found on churches across the county. On Monday, Sheriff Robbie Goins announced there were seven total letters, with five being found on nearby Baptist churches. Thursday, the Sheriff addressed a crowd of well over 100 concerned citizens, church goers, and pastors and said there are now 12 letters that have been found on churches with 15 in total across Campbell County.

Man flown out after rollover wreck into Cove Creek

RED ASH, TN (WLAF) – A late morning single-vehicle wreck sent one man to the hospital by way of a medical helicopter. First Responders with the Caryville and Jacksboro Fire Departments along with the Campbell County EMS extracted a 50-year old man from his pick up truck after it came off old Highway 63 in the Red Ash Community. The truck ended up in Cove Creek on the passenger side in about three-feet of water.

Outdated license plate leads to multiple charges for Hatmaker

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Being attentive ended with an arrest for Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Dakota Williams last week. Williams was patrolling on Glade Springs Road when he saw a Chevy pick-up truck with a license plate displayed at an angle with only one screw securing it to the vehicle. He also noticed the registration was expired from July 2019. Williams was attempting to make a traffic stop when the driver of the pick-up stopped abruptly in the middle of the roadway, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.

Intruder arrested for public intoxication

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – On Sunday night, a call of an unwelcome male who entered a home sent Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Courtney Charles to Bluff Trace just off Queener Road. It was alleged the intruder possibly had a handgun and was intoxicated. When Charles arrived at the scene, Caryville Police Officer Jordan Tolliver, Jacksboro Police Officer Jessie Ferguson and CCSO Deputy Preston Mullins had already arrived on the scene and were attempting to arrest the male identified as Jason Paul Miller.
