Madras police are seeking tips from the public to find one or possibly two young adults who entered Bridges High School, the former Westside Elementary School, twice and the second time burglarized the school early Monday, taking computer-related and other items.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 10, in coordination with the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation, has issued a ban on all outdoor open burning on the reservation due to wildfire smoke. This ban is in effect until further notice.

All outdoor burning on the Warm Springs Reservation has been banned because of the smoke tied to the wildfire burning in the area. The ban has been issued by the Environmental Protection Agency in coordination with the Confederated Tribes of the reservation. The burn ban applies to all outdoor and agricultural burning - which includes camping and recreation fires and bonfires - and it extends to all areas within the external reservation boundaries regardless of ownership or tribal membership. Ceremonial and traditional fires are the only ones that are exempt from the ban. The ban will remain in effect until further notice.
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- It may not be to the same hazardous extent of last September, at this point, but wildfire smoke has once again reduced air quality in Central Oregon. A fire first spotted Friday evening continues to burn Saturday in south Wasco County. The brush fire, referred to as S-503 Fire by CTWS Fire Management, is located west of Pine Grove, on the north end of the Warm Springs Reservation. The blaze is also approximately three miles east of Highway 26.
