T-bone accident sends three to hospital

A T-bone accident sent three people to the hospital Sunday morning. The accident occurred just before noon on Highway 15-501 in Carthage in front of Cooper Ford. A Lexus heading north appeared to be turning into Cooper Ford from the turning lane when it was hit in the passenger side by a Nissan. Both vehicles had heavy damage.

Panic and confusion defined the last moments of Marshall Eugene Parks Jr.'s life, according to 911 call recordings released in the case this week. Parks, 32, was shot in his home in the 800 block of Danish Drive on June 19, according to a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department. Man charged in fatal shooting of Fayetteville teen

A man has been arrested in South Carolina and charged in the May 13 shooting death of a Fayetteville teenager on Yadkin Road, the Fayetteville Police Department said. Lamon Isaiah Townsend, 21, has been charged with first-degree murder, the department said in a release. His address was not immediately available. Townsend was arrested Wednesday, June 29, in Bennettsville, South Carolina, by members of the U.S.Marshals Service Task Force.
