Buddy “Bud” E. Fields – age 93 of Polo, Missouri passed away Sunday morning, June 26, 2022, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Evergreen Cemetery in care of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 2nd, 2022, at Stith Funeral Home in Polo. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Friday evening, and also at the funeral home.

Northwest Missouri RPDC Announces Teachers of the Year

MARYVILLE, MO – The Northwest Missouri Regional Professional Development Center has named two area teachers as Northwest Missouri’s 2022-23 Regional Teachers of the Year. Teachers of the year are Kim Fish of King City and Rachel Luke of Stanberry. Fish teaches Spanish at King City R-I School District. Luke is an Elementary Special Education teacher for Stanberry R-II School District.

Lane closure scheduled for portion of northbound I-35

CLAY COUNTY — MoDOT Kansas City will be completing bridge work as part of the Interstate 35 and 19th Street interchange project in Kearney this week that will require the closure of the left lane of northbound Interstate 35 from approximately mile marker 24.2 to Missouri Route 92, according to a press release.

Details Of Sunday Evening Ray County Fatal Accident Released

The Highway Patrol has released details about a Sunday evening accident that took the life of a Rayville man. According to the accident report from Troop A of the Highway Patrol, at 6:15 P.M. Sunday 62-year-old Rayville resident Earl D. Griffith was driving a 2003 John Deere northbound on Highway 13 at Route J in Henrietta. That’s when a 2001 Dodge Ram being driven by 33-year-old Mayview resident Ayron W. Nelson struck the hay baler that was being towed by the tractor.

Two new troopers have been assigned to Troop H, in Northwest Missouri. Troopers Saxton W. Pliley and Jackson D. Schmedding will report for duty on July 11th. Trooper Pliley, is from Jamesport and has been assigned to Zone 10, serving Daviess and DeKalb counties. Trooper Saxton served in the United States Marine Corps from 2017 to 2021, where he obtained the rank of corporal.

Jerry DeWayne Woods, 83, of Excelsior Springs, MO passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at his home in rural Ray County. Jerry was born on July 7, 1938 in Kansas City, MO to Melvin and Bessie (Arnold) Woods. He graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1956 where he was on the football and track teams and married Barbara Elaine Lee in 1957.
