A Boone County man and woman are charged in connection with a drug bust in Camden County last week. On Friday, the Camden County Sheriff’s office announced that they’d stopped a driver on Osage Beach Parkway and found narcotics in the vehicle. Their investigation led deputies to the Hawk’s Nest Lodge, where the driver was staying. Camdenton man gets 15 years in prison for fatal injection of Fentanyl

A Camden County man accused of injecting a fatal dose of fentanyl is headed to prison. Timothy Evans, of Camdenton, pleaded down Monday to first-degree involuntary manslaughter. He’d originally been charged with second-degree murder. Evans also pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance and tampering with a motor vehicle. He was sentenced to a total of 15 years in prison.

Suspects Named in Drug Bust and Recovery of Stolen Items

The two suspects arrested late last week in connection to drugs and stolen items being recovered from the Hawks Nest Lodge in Osage Beach have been identified. The Camden County Sheriff’s Department says 35-year-old Mark Helmich, of Columbia, and 25-year-old Crystal Sawyer, of Hartsburg, have formally been charged in associate court. Helmich is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanors for driving revoked or suspended and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia…he’s being held on a $25,000 bond. Sawyer is charged with four felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia…she’s being held on a $15,000 bond. The stolen items were identified as being taken from the Osage Beach area.

Kansas man seriously injured in Camden County crash

An out-of-state man is seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash in Camden County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Blake Hearn, 23, of Olathe, Kansas, was driving on Route MM near the Shawnee Bend access of the Lake of the Ozarks in Sunrise Beach around 1:30 in the morning Sunday when the crash occurred. Troopers say another vehicle failed to yield to Hearn and the two collided.
