CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ) A man from the state of California suffered serious injuries in a Camden County crash Monday night. According to Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports, 32-year-old Christopher Sanetti was driving west on Route KK when his pickup truck started to skid and crossed over the center of the road. California man injured, charged with DWI in Camden County crash

A California man was injured and charged with driving while intoxicated following a crash on Route KK in Camden County, just east of Ranch Road. A Missouri State Highway Patrol report notes that based on evidence at the scene, 32-year-old Christopher Sanetti of Placentia, Calif., was driving west in a 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche when the incident occurred. Sanetti's vehicle began to skid, crossed the center of the road, continued to skid and crossed back over the center where it traveled off the right side of the road and overturned, striking two trees. The body of the vehicle separated from the chassis and came to a rest on its top facing east, while the chassis came to a rest facing west.

California police officer helps 88-year-old crash victim celebrate birthday

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — A California police officer went above and beyond for the victim of a nasty car crash who was on his way to celebrate his 88th birthday. An 88-year-old man, identified as Mr. Theodore, was riding on Avocado Blvd. in El Cajon with a friend to a birthday lunch, but their plans took an unexpected turn. Police say a mechanical problem with the car forced the driver to lose control.

Calif. FF burned fighting multi-house blaze

Officials with CCCFPD said there were “significant collapses” in both houses. A third house was threatened by the fire, but firefighters were able to keep it from spreading. The firefighter was treated at a local hospital and released.

California Man Drowns When Canoe Capsizes On Current River

An 82-year-old California man drowned when his canoe capsized and he was caught under the roots of a tree on the Current River in southern Missouri. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said David Robles, of Los Angeles, died Saturday morning while on the river in Carter County. The patrol says a strong current pushed his canoe into a root wad. The canoe capsized and Robles was trapped under the roots and drowned. Root wads are the roots of trees that are left exposed along waterways to stabilize river banks and provide habitat for fish.

California, Oregon Coast Guard crews rescue 6 people 80 miles west of Crescent City

Coast Guard crews from McKinleyville and North Bend, Oregon, rescued six people from their 79-foot sailboat Saturday, approximately 80 miles west of Crescent City.
