‘I pray they can rebuild’

LAKE CITY — Heavy smoke billowed out of the Dobson Pipe Organ Builders Ltd. factory in Lake City for hours after it caught fire sometime late Tuesday afternoon. The blaze, which appeared to start on the north side of the building, gutted the production area of the factory. It produced massive flames that left tools and other equipment charred. Ultimately, the roof collapsed.

Tuesday Fire Ravages Manufacturing Building In Calhoun County

A fire Tuesday consumed a Calhoun County manufacturing building. Dobson Pipe Organ Builders in Lake City, caught fire Tuesday evening. Smoke was visible from miles away. The State Marshall’s Office says, the fire started from a fan in the building that malfunctioned. Firefighters from several departments around the area responded. The fire eventually caused part of the building to collapse.

Fire rips through Lake City pipe organ manufacturing facility

LAKE CITY, Iowa — Thick, black smoke could be seen for miles around Lake City Tuesday as firefighters worked to extinguish flames at Dobson Pipe Organ Builders. Witnesses to the fire told KCCI that firefighters arrived at Dobson around 4 p.m. The Lake City facility is located approximately two hours northwest of the Des Moines metro in Calhoun County.

Congressman Feenstra’s Representatives To Hold Office Hours In Carroll, Calhoun and Greene County Next Week

The Lake City Council is considering a ban on private firework displays in town this year due to the unusually dry spring so far. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, Calhoun County is currently experiencing moderate drought conditions, and the minimal precipitation today (Friday) will likely be only a temporary reprieve.
