State Auditor Sand Scheduled For Stops In Greene, Carroll, Sac, And Calhoun Counties This Week

Auditor of State Rob Sand is scheduled to make several stops in the listening area this week as part of his 100 Town Hall Tour. Sand will be in Jefferson at Washington Park on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. He then heads to Carroll, where he will be in South Side Park from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sand’s schedule for Wednesday begins in Sac County at Sac City Park from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Before heading to Calhoun County at the courthouse gazebo in Rockwell City from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. These town hall gatherings are open to the public. Sand will use this time to highlight the role of the State Auditor, emphasize his Public Innovations and Efficiencies (PIE) program, and showcase how the Auditor’s Office aggressively protects taxpayers’ money. Calhoun County residents are asked to use alternate travel routes as a portion of 310th Street is closed for construction. Starting this morning (Monday), crews are working on a cross pipe repair on the near-mile-long stretch of road between Red Oak Avenue and Sigourney Avenue. IOWA — Many emergency medical services agencies across Iowa are facing shortages in staff, with rural areas seeing the most impact. Leaders are looking to designate EMS an essential service in their communities. A state law enacted last year would allow counties to do so by holding a referendum. If residents vote to make EMS an essential service, it would allow counties to raise property taxes in order to help pay for the services.
