Foraging for cattail plants/ cattail plantsGin Lee. In my area I don't have to travel very far to find cattail plants. In fact, the plant grows very well alongside ponds, lakes, rivers, and even in road-side ditches. Today, I'm going to take you along with me while I show you how I uproot some cattail plants from a country roadside ditch. Plus, I will tell you a little bit about my experience and why I like foraging for these wild, perennial, aquatic plants that are often considered problematic for farmers.

Arkansas Pastor Responds To Accusations of Racial Discrimination

First Baptist Church in Forrest City, Arkansas was accused over the weekend of racially discriminating a Black family visiting their church. A woman shared on her social media page the details of how she felt two church members were out of line by first not letting them into the 11 A.M. worship service. She noted that one male member questioned why her family was there in the first place. After not being let in she questioned the other member, an older lady, if everyone was welcome at the church.

Thick smoke causes I-40 traffic slowdown, caution advised

ST. FRANCIS Co., Ark. (KAIT) – A thick plume of smoke has caused a major slowdown in traffic on I-40 between Wheatley and Goodwin. According to IDriveArkansas.com, a vehicle is burning about six miles northeast of Wheatley. The fire has caused a significant amount of smoke to blow across the interstate, slowing traffic.

Deputy dragged by vehicle during arrest attempt

A Cross County, Arkansas deputy is lucky to be alive after being dragged by a vehicle in an Exxon gas station following a traffic stop Tuesday night, according to Kark news. It happened in Cherry Valley north of Wynne, but it didn’t end there. The driver then led officers on a three-county chase all the way to Jonesboro. The jeep with obvious damage to the driver’s side front door was seen racing through Jonesboro.
