Champions: Calaveras outlasts Marysville in 11 innings to capture D4 title

SACRAMENTO – Calaveras lost the section championship game. With two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, Marysville came up with a clutch hit to score the winning run. The deep shot went nearly to the wall in left-center and the runner at third sprinted home to give Marysville the 7-6 win. Right after the runner scored, all of the Marysville players stormed the field and celebrated around second base and all that the Calaveras players could do was watch, as their season came to an end in a heartbreaking fashion.

Calaveras County Road Improvements Will Cause Traffic Delays

San Andreas, AC – Improvements to a roadway that connects San Andreas to the Mountain Ranch area will cause traffic delays for motorists into June. Calaveras County Public Works relayed that the West Murray Creek Road Repair Project will get underway tomorrow, Wednesday, May 25th. The county has hired T&S West, Inc. out of Stockton to complete the project, which is expected to last through mid-June.

Gail Catherine Nellis, 65, was arrested at 2 p.m. at the Murphys Pourhouse and booked on suspicion of failure to appear on a felony charge and receiving known stolen property. Lita Darnell Rose, 58, was arrested at 5:11 p.m. at the 3900 block of Dunn Road in Valley Springs and booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse, cohabitant or dating relationship.

‘A Fun Family Tradition’: 5-Year-Old Crowned Champion Of Calaveras County’s 2022 Jumping Frog Jubilee

CALAVERAS COUNTY (CBS13) — Mark Twain wrote “The Celebrated Jumping Frog Of Calaveras County,” and more than a century-and-a-half later, the competition is hotter than ever. The jubilee just crowned their newest champion, 5-year-old Nolan Moncrief and his frog “Old Papa,” named after Nolan’s grandfather. The Gustine Frog Team leaped into victory. “We just try to make it a fun family tradition,” said Nicole Moncrief, Nolan’s mom. The family team has competed in the Jumping Frog Jubilee for decades. “My grandparents and aunt and uncle actually started the tradition.
