The Supreme Court overturns Roe V. Wade Friday, June 24, 2022, in a 5-4 ruling. The conservative majority has ended constitutional protections for a woman's right to abortion in place for nearly 50 years. This outcome is expected to lead to immediate abortion bans in many states governed by Republicans. To that point shortly after Friday's decision Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, declared June 24 a holiday for his office and added abortion was now illegal in the state of Texas.
