Coroner identifies three women killed in collision with Amtrak train

BRENTWOOD, Calif. - The coroner on Monday released the identities of the three women killed when an Amtrak train slammed into their car in Brentwood. Authorities said Mercedes Regalado, 50, of Antioch; Maria Nieves, 27, and Julia Mondragon, 40, both of Dixon, died Sunday after the commuter train smashed into their Honda Civic that was crossing the railroad tracks.

Brentwood City Council to Discuss Removal of Planning Commissioner

On Tuesday, the Brentwood City Council will consider the removal of Planning Commissioner David Dolter from the planning commission. The move comes after a June 1 discussion brought forward by Councilmember Jovita Mendoza (see recap below). The discussion revolved around an April 2021 email sent by Dolter (see graphic below) which included the entire planning commission–he is being accused by two councilmembers of a Brown Act violation . The council also had concerns about his views regarding the City General Plan.

Antioch, CA…June 25…The flat track motorcycles invaded Antioch Speedway for a special night of racing on the 3/8 mile clay oval track. Over a dozen different classifications of bikes took their turns on the speedway in heat race and Main Event competition. However, the focus was on the Pro Am division, which competed for a $1,000 prize.

Antioch Man Killed in Car Accident on Bay Bridge in San Francisco. Officials reported that a 22-year-old man from Antioch was killed in a recent motor vehicle crash on the Bay Bridge. The incident occurred on the morning of Sunday, June 19, 2022, at approximately 3:00 a.m. on westbound I-80 on the Bay Bridge near Treasure Island.
