Reece Gardner earns second place and NJCAA All-American honors after first day at NJCAA Nationals

(Hutchison, KS) The Pima Community College men’s track & field team closed out the first day of the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Thursday in Hutchinson, KS. Sophomore Reece Gardner (Marana HS) took second place and earned eight team points in the Pole Vault with a personal-best vault of 4.81 meters (15-feet, 9.25-inches). He hit the mark on his second attempt. His three attempts to break the Pima school record fell short but earned NJCAA All-American honors.

Eastern Arizona College reduces tax rate for 2023

THATCHER — Eastern Arizona College (EAC) has proposed a lower tax rate for the 2023 budget year to the Graham County Community College District Governing Board (Governing Board). The reduction in the College’s tax rate was made possible because the overall assessed value of property in Graham County has increased over the past year, having a net effect of providing additional revenue for EAC. The Governing Board will decide whether to act on EAC’s recommendation at its June board meeting.

Unsafe lane change leads to collision, citations in Thatcher

THATCHER – An unsafe lane change lead to a collision on U.S. Highway 70 in Thatcher on Friday and to both drivers receiving citations. There were no injuries listed.
