HSAAT reaches $100,000 goal with $10,000 donation from Jones Petroleum

The Henderson School Alumni Association Trust (HSAAT) took a giant and jubilant step forward on Dec. 17, 2019 by becoming the owner of the Henderson School property. They took another big step on June 17, 2021 by achieving two major goals: receiving their largest donation to date, $10,000 from Jones Petroleum, and surpassing the $100,000 fund raising mark by raising $103,000.

One of two suspects in Pepperton shooting death arrested

One of two suspects in the May 28 shooting death of Keyon "Ke-Low" Watts, 28, of Jackson, was arrested on June 4 and charged with murder. Xavier Demond Walker, 27, of Flovilla, was taken into custody on June 4 after he was released from a Macon hospital where he had been recovering from a gunshot wound. The Jackson Police Department is continuing to search for the second suspect.
