PALERMO, Calif. — UPDATE, JUNE 24, 6:50 PM:. All evacuation orders and warnings have been removed for the Baldwin Fire in Palermo. The BCSO said the Evacuation Order for Occidental Avenue and N Villa Avenue have been removed, as well as the Evacuation Warnings for residents living in Zone 872: east of Gene Lane east to the railroad tracks, and from the north end of Wyman Avenue south to Palermo Road.

The bravery of Paradise residents amidst the destructive Camp Fire is coming to the big screen with the help of Jamie Lee Curtis. Deadline reports that Lizzie Johnson's book, "Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire" is going to be adapted into a feature film through Hollywood star Jamie Lee Curtis' production company, Comet Pictures. She will also be teaming with Blumhouse Pictures to develop the story.

CHICO, Calif. - Chico will move through the Comanche Creek homeless camp site next Wednesday, June 29, 2022, handing out 7-day notices to the homeless living there. The city is trying to clear out the entire area all at once, but the settlement agreement says the city can only give notices and move out 50 homeless people at once.

The Department of Water Resources (DWR) paid apprenticeship program exams will be available June 24 to June 30 for those interested in applying for electrician, operator, mechanic, or utility craftsworker positions in California’s hydroelectric industry. Most apprenticeship positions have education requirements of equivalent to graduation from high school and knowledge of basic arithmetic and algebra, electrical fundamentals, and mechanical principles.

PALERMO (CBS13) — Firefighters are at the scene of a vegetation fire in Palermo that is approximately 1 acre, said Cal Fire. The 1-acre fire is spreading at a moderate rate and crews are making good progress fighting it as of Friday afternoon. There is currently a line around the blaze, but there is spotting potential.
