Tour de Nebraska Catches Breath in Bow

BROKEN BOW – Before kicking up dust and gravel on the way to Ord, the Tour de Nebraska (TDN) had a chance to kick up their feet for two nights in Broken Bow. Melham Park and Kinkaider Brewing Company played host and oasis to the gathering of nearly 400 bicyclists as they stretched their legs on the first leg of their journey through the Sandhills.

Sargent Fair & Chokecherry Jamboree 2022

SARGENT – The Sargent Fair and Chokecherry Jamboree is slated to begin Saturday, June 25, capping the final full weekend before July. This year’s theme is “Only in a Small Town,” and features the perennial Little Miss Chokecherry and Pit Spitting contests sandwiching a Saturday of what has historically been a weekend of wonderful fun.

Burwell woman sentenced to prison for 2019 fatal car crash

ORD, Neb. (KSNB) - A Burwell woman will go to state prison for a 2019 car crash which killed an Ord woman. Kelsie Privoznik-Bloom, 30, was convicted in March of manslaughter. She had originally been charged with motor vehicle homicide and three other charges related to the September 2019 death of Sandy Psota, 52, of Ord. Those charges were amended or dropped in exchange for a guilty plea on manslaughter.

City of Sargent presented $10,000 grant

KEARNEY, Neb. — The Shrine Bowl's phrase of "More than a Game" holds true time and time again, but sometimes it hits a little closer to home. Aeneas Cole was an honorary co-captain for the 64th Shrine Bowl Saturday, as the youngster from Burwell has gone through quite the battles in his short time on earth. That inspired the players -especially Burwell's Caleb Busch, who suited up in Saturday's game.
